Signs, signs, everywhere are signs...

Four months until the wedding & I have no caterer, no officiant, no decorations, no flowers, no cake & no DJ.

I have nothing.

I have tried to join those wedding websites. The Knot, The Wedding Channel, you know? But, I just can't get motivated. J hasn't even picked groomsmen. I think he's even less prepared than I.

Is this a sign?

Hi Lola,

I don't know if it helps, but when me and my wife got married almost 5 years since we did various things which helped and cut the cost right down (but didn't make the wedding less special). At the church where we married, we used the church hall for the reception. My wife is in the Salvation Army, so some of the army helped with the catering. As I recall they got the food at a set price (which was nice). We didn't have any bridesmaids etc and my wife's cousin is a Master baker, so he made us a wedding cake as a present. for bouquets we bought heather and things like that. It was quite a cheap wedding, but not rubbish and we had about 100 people at the reception. It helps if you know people who might want to give a helping hand and things like that.
I hope this gives you a few ideas.

David.

Ps. My wife reminded me that we focused on the family and friends, rather than expense. This is the last comment (finally, ha ha ha)

Thank you David!! You are so correct. It's about the family & friends getting together to celebrate your special day. I wish you & your wife a life time of happiness!

I feel your pain... we are completely unprepared as well. Six months to go and we've done nothing! Actually, that's exactly why I just started my blog, so at least I will have an outlet to let off some steam. Good luck to you!
